Semi Rugged Panasonic Toughbooks
Semi-ruggedised Toughbooks, equipped with Intel® Core™ i5 vPro™ processor, achieve the perfect balance between impact resistance and up-front elegance.
The hard drive, display and other sensitive components are all protected by a magnesium-thickened case, and the hard drive is mounted in shock-absorbing polymers to help insulate against vibration and shock, helping it withstand a fall from a height of 76 cm without damage. A non-breakable plastic seal covers all vital interfaces and connections.
The keypad and touchpad are water resistant and the casing is fully impact and scratch-resistant.

Designed to meet the same standards as all Toughbook computers, Toughpad tablets are way more durable than comparable tablets. Toughpad tablets feature Intel or ARM processors and offer the choice of Android™ or Microsoft Windows, depending on the model.

Business Rugged Panasonic Toughbooks
The display, hard disk and keyboard are components that are most often damaged in conventional notebooks. This is why the Business Rugged Toughbook models focus on protecting them.
The robustness of the Business Ruggedised Toughbooks has been decisively improved with drop tests. In fact, even in active operation they can withstand falls from a height of up to 76 cm without damage, with the hard disk remaining intact.
Accidental drink spillages (a further cause of numerous faults in everyday working life) cannot damage the Toughbook Business models – a special drainage system reliably protects the keyboard, touchpad and other sensitive components from splashes, particularly on journeys. A full 200-ml glass spilt directly over the keyboard and touchpad simply flows out through the drainage channels. All the electronics in the notebook remain dry and intact.
Thanks to optimal pressure distribution, the Business Rugged Toughbook Executive models also withstand pressure of up to 100 kg/f. Therefore, the sensitive LCD display, in particular, is safe from breakages and other damage. Damage to the hard disk from external shocks and vibrations is also prevented – it is integrated in an unbreakable magnesium case, equipped with four shock-absorbing pads made from high-tech material.
